Tonight my brother is hosting a party to celebrate the end of his year long journey opening a fortune cookie every day and following its advice. Here he is getting interviewed by Fox 4 news.

This quite possibly could be the creepiest piggy bank ever. Saw this at Target today while looking for baby stuff.

Sarah and I are getting ready to watch our 4th Comets indoor soccer game of the year tonight.

On another note, the room I took the picture of yesterday already looks way different. More pictures of it to come.

December 27, 2011

Today Sarah and I went out to the stadium to get a few pictures taken by my cousin Sami.   We wanted a few pictures of Sarah pregnant and we thought it would be cool to put on our Royals jerseys and have hers unbuttoned at the bottom so you could see her belly.  What we hadn't counted on was how cold it was going ot be today.  We got a few good pictures of the two of us but the one that I thought was cool was one we took behind the scoreboard.  The sun was casting the shadows on the hill behind.  I put on the star filter and headed down to the shadow.  This was the result.

This is probably one of many boring pictures to come this year. This is the beginnings of tadpoles room. I worked in there today getting it ready to paint.

December 25, 2011

Merry Christmas everyone!  I got a new fish-eye lens today so I thought I would start this project off with a couple of pictures I took today just messing around the in-laws house.  I'm still learning to use it and I'm hoping that it gets dark soon because I want to go outside and try a long exposure star trail picture.

This might be my favorite picture of the day.  I saw the cool shadow as we were taking a walk and the further I moved the lens down, the longer my legs got.
This is my niece Alexa.  I love these types of shots.  Goofy, but fun.
I started playing with depth of field.  I'm still not very good at it but I thought this was a fun one for Christmas Day.
Another along those same lines.  By fluke, the candy cane ended up in the background.
I totally copied this from a picture I saw on flickr.

Project for the Year

I've seen several people attempt this, and I think a lot of people probably drop out after a few days, or weeks.  I  want to attempt to take a picture every day and post it on here, as well as on Flickr.  My brother is finishing the home stretch of a blog that he wrote every day this year.  I have enjoyed reading it but I know that at times it was tedious to do it every day.  One of my last years of teaching fifth grade I blogged very consistently and I really enjoyed it.  I'm hoping to be able to get every day on here.  Some days there may be comments, others just pictures.  It will probably depend on how much time I have when  Tadpole arrives in February.  One thing that I'm hoping will help is a fact that because of my phone, I have a camera with me almost constantly.  The ease of access I'm hoping will help this project along, add to that the fact that I can post directly from my phone, I am hoping this is a project that I can see through from start to finish.
